Shiseido Bloodstone Rouge Rouge Lipstick, $28

Who should wear this red: Anyone who loves deeper, richer reds with soft, warm undertones paired with a natural finish.

Why we love it:  It’s richly pigmented, easy to apply straight from the tube, and wears long and comfortably with a hydrating formula.

MAC Viva Glam I Lipstick, $18.50

Who should wear this red:  Anyone who loves a retro red–warm-toned, deep and a bit muted, with a matte finish.  This is a classic red.

Why we love it:  It wears like iron but isn’t terribly drying, plus it’s pigmented and applies smoothly in a single stroke.  100% of the selling price goes towards MAC’s AIDS Fund, too!

MAC Fire Roasted Liptensity Lipstick, $21

Who should wear this red:  Anyone who loves glossier lip colors–you’ll get the richness and longer wear of a more matte shade but with that glossy finish you love.

Why we love it:  Long-wearing, pigmented, comfortable to wear, and doesn’t feather or bleed makes this glossy red lipstick a real winner!

NARS Shirley Audacious Lipstick, $34

Who should wear this red: Anyone who wants to splurge in a decadent formula in a deep red that’s just slightly warmer in tone–almost neutral if you are very cool-toned.

Why we love it:  It’s one of the creamiest formulas on the market, and Shirley is incredibly pigmented, long-wearing, and comfortable to wear with effortless application that wears down beautifully.

ColourPop Liquid Courage Lux Lipstick, $7

Who should wear this red: Anyone on the hunt for an affordable, warm-toned red lipstick with more of a satin finish (not quite matte but not really shiny or glossy).

Why we love it: The Lux Lipstick formula is a real go-to for us when it comes to making wallet-friendly recs ’cause it lives up to its claims and is consistent across most of the range.  Liquid Courage offers rusty warmth in an opaque, lightly creamy, and long-wearing formula that stays in place well.

Make Up For Ever C406 Artist Rouge Lipstick, $22

Who should wear this red: Anyone who wants a lighter, warmer red lipstick that isn’t neon-bright and likes a satin finish.

Why we love it: We love a good satin finish lipstick because we love how easy they are to apply–no tugging–but wear down to a soft matte finish within a couple of hours of wear, so they wear longer but are more comfortable.

MAC Brave Red Lipstick, $18.50

Who should wear this red: Anyone who wants a mid-tone red with warmer undertones and doesn’t like a matte finish.

Why we love it: It’s long-time favorite from MAC’s permanent lipstick range because it has a soft, luminous finish that’s very easy on the lips and doesn’t emphasize texture, plus it’s comfortable to wear, has good coverage, and lasts for hours.

Besame Cherry Red 1935 Classic Color Lipstick, $22

Who should wear this red: Anyone who wants to a rich, deep red lipstick with neutral undertones and a natural finish.  This shade works beautifully blotted down to a stain, too!

Why we love it: For someone who isn’t concerned about ~most pigmented ever~ lipsticks, it offers more adjustable coverage so you can play around with your look.  It wears well, doesn’t feather, and doubles as a fantastic stain.

MAC Dare You Lipstick, $18.50

Who should wear this red: Anyone who likes a lil’ bit of pearl to their red lipstick and is after something that isn’t too warm-toned.

Why we love it: It’s a medium red, not too bright or too muted, and has noticeable pearl in it, which gives it a soft sheen but doesn’t head into frosted territory so there’s no fear of emphasizing lip texture or lines!
